OpenClassrooms, self-paced learning with opportunities for group work
The training structure at OpenClassrooms allows you to start training independently, to progress at your own pace (with the help of your mentor), and to take a step toward your professional development.
We recognize, however, that the self-paced nature of your training can be challenging. This is why OpenClassrooms encourages collaboration between students. Studying together can foster a spirit of teamwork but we need to ensure everyone masters the skills. Despite this collaborative spirit, we do not offer group projects where students divide the work of their deliverables amongst themselves. All work must be completed originally even when working together to learn these skills
Individual assessment for each of your projects.
IMPORTANT: At OpenClassrooms, assessments are conducted on an individual basis. Your deliverables must be original and different from those of your peers!
In addition, please note that:
- While learning can be done in a group environment, each individual student must be able to explain their thought process during a project assessment. Any suspicion of fraud, plagiarism or cheating will be reported.
- It is not in your best interest (nor that of your peers) to reproduce someone else's work. In a professional setting, you will need to demonstrate that you have mastered the skills necessary to complete your work.
- If you copy others’ work, you risk losing access to your training before it’s complete.
What are the penalties of plagiarism?
- If plagiarism is detected during the creation of one or more deliverables : Written warning.
- If plagiarism is detected in one or more submitted deliverables : Written warning; the project cannot be evaluated and must be reworked.
- Case of plagiarism detected throughout the project : Written warning; the project must be entirely redone.
- Repeat plagiarism after at least one warning or a deliverable has been evaluated: Training is discontinued, followed by a ban on taking an OpenClassrooms program for 2 years.

What are the benefits of working with my peers?
